Rejuve technology has spread throughout the galaxy and is in wide use by all species for a variety of purposes, ranging from medical to judicial. In the late 21st century, the being known as Q decided to play a game with the species of the Milky Way and transported some of them into the Centaurus Galaxy. Once there all species fought for survival and their way of life until eventually a plague broke out, killing trillions. No one knows for certain where the plague came from or how many actually died, but the remaining planets estimate that at least 90% of the galactic population perished as a result.
