Getting Started in Haileni

Getting involved in the Haileni RP is pretty simple. Players that have read the sim guidelines and understand our RP concept can fill out an application get the group tag and hit the ground running right away.  But there are a few things to consider.

  1. This is a role play sim. Everything done in local and group is considered in character even when its in (( ))

  2. This is a city/slice of life/school/discipline role play. That last part is what you need to make sure you are aware of.  Discipline will range from taking privileges away all the way to spanking.

  3. We revolve around lurking dragons rejuve universe. if you dont understand what that means then please read the rejuve universe section at the top. All characters are welcome here no matter where the concept comes from however we will in the rejuve universe and you will be excepted to role play by the rules set out.

Typically applications get approved within 24 hours or sooner.  However, if something comes up for leadership it can take up to two days.

Character making guide

Ease and simplicity are things we strive to bring to you when it comes to making a character and joining into the role play within Haileni. With that said though, be mindful of the guidelines below.

  • Please make sure you understand our player guidelines in full. Most of them are common sense, but we ask that you read them through thoroughly before beginning play in Haileni.

  • Please keep everything that you do, believable. Even things of legend have their limits, know your characters realistic limits both physically and mentally.

  • Please no power playing. This will not be tolerated. Just don’t. We have a three strike policy that doesn’t play well with power players.

  • Please get involved. We know that some good role play can come from inside your wonderful house, but think of all the stuff you’d miss if you never left your home.

Player Guidlines

- If you need help, ask!

- There are IC consequences for IC actions. See golden rule. Players are held responsible for their OOC actions, as well.

- The core principle of Haileni  is to tell dynamic, believable, collective stories. There are players on sim at a variety of rp levels, styles and depths. Be patient and communicate in IMs whenever necessary. Everyone was a beginner at some point, if you are a more experienced player playing with someone new or rusty, try to teach instead of criticise.

- Chase that story! Don't be afraid to go out and interact with people. Getting involved in the community and engaging in public spaces is what makes a sim feel active and interesting, and much like in RL you are in charge of your own experience.   Don't assume rp will come to you. Leadership will try to infuse story opportunities and events into the sim, but if you want to see something happen, seek it out.

- We have a neat little city here, but we can’t please everyone all the time. We’ll do our best to try to keep it fair and fun, but sometimes we all have to give a little. Be flexible when you can and let's all work together. If you have an issue, suggestion, or request, be sure to talk to the Leadership. We can't help if we don't know you need it.

- Tact in ooc matters is highly praised and passive aggressiveness is strongly discouraged. Conduct yourselves accordingly. If there are issues, please talk to each other. Be grown ups. Work things out. If that doesn’t work or you need a mediator, talk to your leaders or one of the Admins to help.

- Players are encouraged to share their scenes, either by nc or as they are happening in the IC group. It is fun to see what other story is unfolding in the Sim. However, for people to feel safe and enjoy doing this, Players have to agree to distinguish between player knowledge and character knowledge to avoid metagaming, which is a form of power playing, and is not acceptable. Keep it about the story, and the fun, and follow along without cheating your character or the characters of others out of the character development and plot derived from finding things out in their own way.

***That bears repeating: If you have a problem you can not work out yourself, please always come to someone before you let it ruin your experience. If you need something, talk to us. If you are unsure or have questions about something, talk to us. Your needs and concerns matter but you have to speak up.

- There are a variety of leaders that will be able to help you regarding specific needs, but please always feel welcome to talk to Sarah for any reason. She’s just an IM or notecard away and despite how convenient it would be if she could, she can’t actually read your mind and she’s here for you.

- Ditch the Ego. Try to focus on the story, and telling a great one together with others that have that same goal in mind.
